In June 2017, my family and I were fortunate enough to go to Castello Monaci winery in Lecce while we were vacationing in Italy. We have been huge supporters of the Castello Monaci wines and Luigi Seracca Guerrieri for many years now. We have had every wine of theirs that was available to us on our menu. After touring the winery, we found ourselves sampling the wines in their tasting room and they had a Chardonnay that was absolutely beautiful and I had never seen it before. When we got back home, the first thing I did was inquire about it. It turns out that the chardonnay was not in America. It was only sold in Italy. I kept asking if there was any way to get some. There was much talk back and forth with the importer and the winery and finally they started the paperwork to get it registered to sell in the U.S. and here almost a year later, WE HAVE IT!
